Through regular collaborations with Portugal’s leading cultural institutions, Artway has established itself as both a dynamic management agency and a distinguished independent classical music label based in Porto, near the UNESCO World Heritage Douro Region.

Founded in 2011 and led by cellist and cultural manager Vanessa Pires, Artway’s catalog features numerous first recordings of previously unpublished works by esteemed Portuguese composers, such as António Pinho Vargas, Carlos Azevedo, Carlos Caires, Luís Tinoco, and Nuno Côrte-Real. The catalog also includes fresh, passionate interpretations of timeless masters like Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven, and Brahms, performed by some of the most prestigious musicians.

In 2023, Artway’s work was honored with the Best Classical Album of the Year Award in Portugal and has garnered widespread recognition in major media outlets, including Radio France, BBC Radio 3, BBC Music Magazine, Gramophone, and Westdeutscher Rundfunk Köln (WDR), among many others.

Artway has three catalogs: Artway Records and Artway Next curated by Filipe Quaresma and Artway Jazz curated by João Esteves da Silva.

Several of the albums released by Artway are conceived from the outset not merely as recorded works, but as integrated artistic projects, with a distinct curatorial identity and a format designed for the stage — allowing for their presentation in concert as cohesive programs that dialogue with the recorded version.
Further details about each project can be found below;. Performance conditions are available upon request.
